the centuries, Priorat wines have traditionally been cultivated
on steep slopes.
This, coupled with a difficult orography, and the
unique combination of climate and geography has directly influenced
the exceptional character of the wines produced.
The vines can be found in soil that is predominantly
calcareous, granite or slate based (consisting of the slate of the
area known as llicorella). In the last few years, this type has
become more abundant in the D.O.Q Priorat zone.
