his
region in the south of Catalonia, is bordered by the regions
of the Conca de Barberà, Baix Camp, Ribera d’Ebre
and Garrigues.
It is surrounded by a series of majestic mountains, such
as the Montant mountain range to the North, the Mola of Colldejou
and the Llabería mountain range at the other extreme
and is, at the same time, very close to the Mediterranean
sea, thus enjoying a priviledged climate.
Currently, the wine industry is regulated by two wine appellations
or, as they are known here, denominations of origin: the Qualified
D.O Priorat, and the D.O. Montsant.
